Initiated and operationally managed four voluntary and community projects meeting the needs of the local community. Projects include two youth centres, a youth workers network forum and a community advice and information centre. Currently serving on the Executive Committee developing a children’s theatre company ‘Xpressions’. This work has developed skills in:

Personal Achievements

Transformed the original concept of a local advice and information centre into a real and tangible facility. Implemented and oversaw the project planning, recruitment and training of volunteers and committee members, seeking funding, building refurbishment and policies and procedures and staff training.

Organised a very successful outdoors music concert in Locke Park, Barnsley, as part of a weekend of activities. Work involved recruiting volunteers, managing logistics (including the booking bands, marquees, outdoor staging, PA and lighting, security) liaison with local authorities and licensing agencies as well as supervising the event.
